Your First Visit
A calm, private, in-home experience — designed around your comfort, your goals, and your body's story. Here's exactly how it works.
Step by Step
01
After you book a free discovery call, you'll receive a short intake form covering your history, goals, and what feels off in your body. No paperwork stress — it takes about 5 minutes.
02
Amanda comes to your door with everything needed for the session — a mat, small equipment, and a calm, judgment-free presence. We'll work in any quiet space with a little floor room.
03
We start with a thorough movement and postural assessment. For pelvic floor visits, we discuss your symptoms in depth and only perform an internal exam with your full consent — it's never required.
04
Treatment may include manual therapy, breath work, core & pelvic floor retraining, mobility drills, and strength exercises — tailored to what your body needs that day.
05
You'll leave each session with 2–4 simple exercises to practice between visits. No 30-minute routines — just the few things that will move your healing forward.
06
Everything happens in your home — so you can keep baby close, breastfeed, or nap when you need to. No commuting, no waiting rooms, no stress.
Common Questions
Modern Movement is an out-of-network provider, which means we don't bill insurance directly — but you'll receive a superbill you can submit to your insurance for potential reimbursement. Many clients with PPO plans get a portion reimbursed. HSA and FSA cards are accepted.
New Jersey is a direct-access state, so a referral is not required to begin care. If your insurance plan requires one for reimbursement, we'll let you know.
First visits are 75 minutes to allow time for a full evaluation. Follow-up sessions are typically 60 minutes of one-on-one care.
No. An internal exam can give the most accurate picture of pelvic floor function, but it is always optional. Many clients see excellent results with external assessment and treatment only.
Comfortable, movement-friendly clothing — leggings or shorts and a tank or t-shirt work well.
